John, I'm tremendously impressed by what an incredible storyteller you've become. Reading through your archives, it's obvious that your art has matured and become more confident but I'm stunned by how smoothly and effortlessly (and economically) you tell a great story. Another excellent comic, sir.
What a beautiful and lyrical comic! I really liked the first page of Christmas morning. You can tell that your parents are up much earlier than they'd like to be. They've got their Christmas Morning coffees. (My parents made us wait with the presents until the coffee had been made.)
Sorry Comics are a collection of autobiographical stories from my life. I started this process in 2006 during a tumultuous break-up and I can't seem to shake the habit. Hopefully, you'll find them to be humorous, self-effacing, awkward, funny, uncomfortable and humiliating (for both you and me).

Ain't that the way it goes? People kill, repent, and then kill again...and so it goes and so it goes and so it goes...

ReplyDeleteThis seems like a familiar theme, was this referencing a Simpsons episode or A Christmas Story at all?
ReplyDeleteNot intentionally. Just a memory.
