Though I've had some dark days after my spouse left, not once did I wish there would be none more. I found your "Now I Don't Have Anybody" story at about the exact time my spouse who had left nearly a year earlier was doing that exact same shit to me. I cannot tell you how much that story clip resonated, and helped me to stay strong.
Wow John! I love your work! It was good on it's own but I'm glad somebody left the link to the first comic about Ben. It's a cheesy thing to say but it's illuminating in some way to see like the "other side of the coin."
I found this blog some time ago, and ever since I haven't stopped checking for new comics every day. Your work is beautiful, simple and sad all at once. I've never seen anything like it.
Just wanted to say thanks for the comics; they've really inspired me in my own writing and art. Happy 2011.
your comics always make my stomach kind of hurt. in a good way though. well, not in a good way, but i think your sorta going for that. another awesome one
Sorry Comics are a collection of autobiographical stories from my life. I started this process in 2006 during a tumultuous break-up and I can't seem to shake the habit. Hopefully, you'll find them to be humorous, self-effacing, awkward, funny, uncomfortable and humiliating (for both you and me).
Dude, every time I come in here, you take my breath away. Beautiful work.

ReplyDeleteI like how the back of the bullets are almost smiley faces. I don't know if that was intentional or not, but it happened.
