The ambiguity of the "hurt" in the strip makes it more powerful, John. Did she cheat on you? Did she break up with you? Did she drink straight from the milk carton? The comic leaves me wanting more. The most important aspect of the strip, however, is that it finally answers an age old question: does sorryguy wear boxers or briefs? Great stuff!
I know what she did. I've felt that pain. Though I wasn't wearing biker shorts at the time and I was drinking a lot more. Other than the uncontrollable crying displayed here, I think we've all been through it brother. It's the nature of the game, sadly!
this actually made me cry for like a whole morning, while i was at work.. i had to sneak off to the bathroom. me and my boyfriend now are going through some really rough stuff :(
Sorry Comics are a collection of autobiographical stories from my life. I started this process in 2006 during a tumultuous break-up and I can't seem to shake the habit. Hopefully, you'll find them to be humorous, self-effacing, awkward, funny, uncomfortable and humiliating (for both you and me).
"morally bankrupt" haha
ReplyDeleteGood stuff!

ReplyDeleteI'm with Matt. Was she the one who hurt you? Or she's a one-night stand and you had that empty feeling after? Answer me!!!

ReplyDeleteAwesome. I love the ambiguity. In the end it doesn't really matter what she did - the hurt's the same.

Makes me feel slightly uncomfortable, in a good way.
ReplyDeleteWhy do they always wait until you are literally naked, possibly post-coital, to tell you that shit?

ReplyDeleteI know Laura. That kind of hurt can stick around for a while. If you ever get the chance, turn it into something positive.
